Flag Football

Soon to be seen on ESPN 2 the NMU Intramural Flag Football League had it's Monday night game. Usually the 2 best teams in the league play the Monday night game, so of course we were involved... by some scheduling glitch. We only had 6 players show up. The first half was a slugfest. Andy "George" Herman "Ruth" was playing out of his mind. If I didn't have 20/20 vision I would have sworn that Brett Favre was out there. David "The Professor" Allain hauled in 2 TD catches of over 50 yards during the first half, while I hauled in one 60 yarder. We were down by 8 points at the half and receiving the ball. In the 2nd half our "Dogs" apparently were taken away to help with the Deion Sanders comeback. So we were held scoreless. If we only had 7 guys... it woulda been a lot closer. Before the game I helped out a fellow flag football player by taping his ankle. He proceeded to show his appreciation towards me by clocking me in the head, throat, stomach and leg throughout the game. He's one of those players like Rodney Harrison, he should be fined probably half of the time he steps foot on the field. He capped the game off by scoring and saying, "You guys have nothing on me!" Congratulations to Mr. Dumb Ass, his team of 10 beat our team of 6. At the end of the game I intercepted one of his passes, I took the high road though, I shoulda said a few comments, of which I already had figured out. Instead I just shut my trap. Hopefully we see this team again!
